About the Composer: Jeanne Vultaggio

Jeanne Vultaggio brings practical classroom experience to her compositions. A horn player trained under Eric Ruske at Boston University, she earned her Master of Arts in Wind Conducting from Hofstra University under Dr. Peter Loel Boonshaft. Her background in both performance and education informs every note she writes.

Vultaggio teaches elementary band on Long Island, where she has spent years identifying exactly what developing musicians need to grow artistically and technically. She began composing and arranging in childhood, refining those skills through work with chamber ensembles and a cappella groups during her college years. As a member of NYSSMA and MENC, and a certified NYSSMA adjudicator, she understands the developmental arc of young musicians and writes with their specific needs in mind.
