About the Composer: Richard L. Saucedo
Richard L. Saucedo spent 31 years building Carmel High School's bands into one of Indiana's most decorated programs. His ensembles won state championships, performed at the Music for All National Concert Band Festival multiple times, and the marching band claimed top-ten finishes at the Bands of America Grand National Championship for 17 consecutive years, including national titles in 2005 and 2012. He was recognized as Indiana's Bandmaster of the Year in 1998-99 and Outstanding Music Educator in 2010.
Since retiring in 2013, Saucedo has remained deeply connected to the field as a composer and arranger, a Music for All senior educational consultant, and the music ensemble coordinator for the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. His arranging work with the Cavaliers contributed to five DCI world championships. He was inducted into the Music for All Hall of Fame in 2015 and the Drum Corps International Hall of Fame in 2022, and holds membership in the American Bandmasters Association.
