• Spend time discussing the window scene before playing. Ask students what they see, hear, or feel in that moment. This connection shapes phrasing and dynamics far more effectively than technical instruction alone.
• Encourage students to sing the descriptive lyrics aloud during practice, even if they won't be sung in performance. Singing engages the ear and helps students internalize the melodic contour naturally.
• Balance the student melody with the teacher accompaniment by reminding accompanists that their role is supportive, not prominent. The student's part should always be the primary voice.

Select individual pieces to program across different recitals throughout the year, using the window theme as a seasonal tie-in.
