About the Arranger: Brian Balmages

Brian Balmages composes across orchestral, band, and chamber idioms with equal facility, earning recognition from institutions and organizations worldwide. His works have graced stages including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Sydney Opera House, performed by ensembles spanning from professional orchestras to school groups. He received the A. Austin Harding Award from the American School Band Directors Association and won the 2020 NBA William D. Revelli Composition Contest for Love and Light.

As a conductor, Balmages regularly guests with all-state and university ensembles internationally, appearing at the Midwest Clinic, College Band Directors Conference, and ASTA state conferences. He holds alumni distinctions from James Madison University and the University of Miami, where he composed music for the president's inauguration. Currently, he leads MakeMusic Publications and Digital Education for Alfred and MakeMusic.
