About the Arranger: Dennis Alexander

Dennis Alexander has shaped music education for over four decades through his prolific output as a composer and pedagogue. After teaching piano pedagogy at the University of Montana for 24 years and chairing its piano department, he relocated to California where he continued teaching at Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge before settling in Albuquerque. His association with Alfred Music Publishing since 1986 has yielded more than 400 publications and recordings that have established him as one of the most widely performed educational composers for piano students across all levels.

Beyond the studio and page, Alexander maintains an active presence as a clinician at state and national conventions, a collaborative artist with internationally recognized soloists, and a touring performer. His work has been commissioned by numerous organizations, and his reach extends globally, he has judged national competitions in India and conducted master classes at MTNA's national convention. A native of Kansas and student of Richard Reber at the University of Kansas, Alexander brings both scholarly rigor and practical teaching wisdom to every piece he writes.
