About the Composer: JaRod Hall
JaRod Hall brings deep roots in Texas music education and performance to his compositional work. A tubist and trombonist educated at the University of North Texas and Texas State University, he spent eight years as a band director in the Frisco ISD, where his ensembles earned consistent sweepstakes recognition at state UIL evaluations and made history when his 2018 middle school band became the first in the district to win the Citation of Excellence. His performance credentials include principal tuba roles with the Texas State Wind Symphony, membership in the 3 O'Clock Lab Band, and four years of Texas All-State Band selection during his high school years.
Hall's compositions have earned recognition on the Texas Prescribed Music List, J.W. Pepper's Editor's Choice selections, and the Bandworld Top 100. His fanfare "Silver Fanfare" won the 2020 Dallas Winds Call for Fanfares, and his grade 2 work "Through the Storm" received the 2021 Barbara Buehlman Prize for middle school band composition.
