About the Composer: David O'Fallon
David O'Fallon began composing and arranging at age 10 and studied at Northern Illinois University, where he earned degrees in Elementary Education and Music Theory and Composition. While there, he served as staff arranger for the NIU Jazz Ensemble, gaining deep experience in orchestral color and contemporary idioms.
O'Fallon has performed as both a percussionist and violist with the Chicago Civic Orchestra and sung with the Chicago Symphony Chorus bass section. He regularly augments the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's percussion section and has contributed to approximately 20 CSO recordings and concert tours. The Chicago chapter of the American String Teachers Association has commissioned him four times to create contemporary works specifically designed for developing string players.
