About the Composer: Vince Gassi
Vince Gassi has been composing for young musicians since earning his Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario. After further study in composition and arranging at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, he completed a Ph.D. at York University in Toronto. His catalog now exceeds 100 published works, many of which have appeared on concert and contest programs across North America, Europe, and Japan.
For over two decades, Gassi has taught instrumental music at elementary and secondary levels while maintaining an active schedule as a guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician throughout the United States and Canada. He leads seminars on creative engagement and digital workflows for music directors, and his pieces are regularly performed at the Midwest Clinic. His compositions balance accessibility with musical substance, making them engaging for student ensembles without sacrificing artistic integrity.
