About the Composer: Vince Gassi
Vince Gassi has built a prolific career as a composer and educator since earning his Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario. His studies in composition and arranging at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, followed by a Ph.D. from York University in Toronto, positioned him to write music that works in real classrooms. Over more than two decades teaching instrumental music at the elementary and secondary levels, he developed an instinct for what engages young musicians without sacrificing musical substance.
Gassi's output now exceeds 100 published works, many of which appear on contest and concert programs internationally. He maintains an active schedule as a guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician across the United States and Canada, and frequently leads seminars on creative engagement and digital workflows for music directors. His pieces have been performed and recorded throughout North America, Europe, and Japan, with regular performances at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago.
