About the Composer: Vince Gassi

Vince Gassi has been composing for young musicians since joining Alfred Music in 2006, building a catalog of over 100 published works that balance musical substance with accessibility. His background spans performance, pedagogy, and formal training; he holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario, studied composition and arranging at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, and completed a Ph.D. at York University in Toronto.

For more than two decades, Gassi taught instrumental music at the elementary and secondary levels while establishing himself as a sought-after guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician across the United States and Canada. His workshops on creative pedagogy and digital workflows for music directors reflect his commitment to engaging both students and teachers in the compositional and performance process. His works appear regularly on international concert and festival programs and have been performed throughout North America, Europe, and Japan.
