About the Composer: Brant Karrick

Brant Karrick

Brant Karrick has shaped band programs at multiple institutions over a career spanning more than four decades. He joined Northern Kentucky University as Director of Bands in 2003, where he oversees the full spectrum of the band curriculum, from conducting and instrumental methods to music theory and orchestration, with particular investment in preparing the next generation of music educators. Before moving to NKU, he spent nine years at the University of Toledo and seven years teaching in Kentucky public schools.

Karrick earned his Ph.D. in music education from Louisiana State University and holds degrees from the University of Louisville and Western Kentucky University. His compositions and arrangements have been performed across the United States, Canada, Europe, South Africa, and beyond. He remains active as a guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator, and serves as a member of ASCAP and the College Band Directors National Association.
