Martin studied piano performance at Furman University and earned his master's degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where he later taught in the Piano Pedagogy Department for five years. A accomplished solo pianist and competition winner, he has performed with orchestras across the United States and Mexico, including a nationally broadcast recital at Ex-convento del Carman in Guadalajara.

Today Martin divides his performance schedule between concert halls and church music settings, channeling his deep knowledge of both contexts into his prolific output as a composer and arranger. His works span from Carnegie Hall to worship services across North America, and he brings this dual perspective to every project. He lives in Austin, Texas with his family.
