Michael Oare holds degrees in both Music Composition and Music Education from Old Dominion University and has spent three decades shaping young musicians as Director of Bands at Great Bridge Middle School in Chesapeake, Virginia. During his 33 years there, his program earned superior ratings on 32 consecutive Virginia Concert Band Performance Assessments while performing advanced repertoire, and his work has been featured in GIA Publications' Teaching Music Through Performance series.
