About the Composer: Scott Watson
Scott Watson brings three decades of classroom experience to his compositional voice. After leading high school band and coordinating elementary strings across the Parkland School District in Allentown, Pennsylvania, he now serves as Associate Professor of Music at Cairn University. His more than 120 published works for concert band, string orchestra, and chamber ensembles reflect a distinctive blend of contemporary concert music sophistication and deep understanding of what students at all levels need to engage with musically.
Recognized as an award-winning composer whose work has reached venues from the White House to the Midwest Clinic, Watson remains actively involved in music education through clinician work, festival guest conducting, and collaboration with Alfred Publications. He is also an author of the music education text Using Technology to Unlock Musical Creativity, published by Oxford University Press.
