About the Composer: Robert Sheldon
Robert Sheldon stands among today's most frequently programmed composers for wind ensembles. His works span concert repertoire, contest circuits, and educational settings, earning recognition from the American School Band Directors Association, Phi Beta Mu, and ASCAP. Beyond composition, Sheldon co-authored Sound Innovations for Concert Band and maintains an active schedule as guest conductor for state honor bands and clinician at universities and conferences across the United States and internationally.
Sheldon's music has traveled to stages including Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, Chicago's Orchestra Hall, Sydney Opera House, and the Kennedy Center. His conducting and clinician work has taken him throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. In 2020, VanderCook College of Music awarded him an honorary doctorate in recognition of his sustained contributions to wind band literature and music education.
