About the Composer: Robert Sheldon

Robert Sheldon stands among the most frequently performed composers in the wind band world. His works appear regularly on state and national contest lists, and his compositions have been heard in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to the Sydney Opera House. He is the lead author of Sound Innovations for Concert Band and has earned recognition from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and ASCAP for his contributions to music education.

Sheldon maintains an active schedule as both a clinician and guest conductor, traveling internationally to work with All-State and Regional Honor Bands. He accepts commissions regularly and releases numerous new concert band publications each year. His teaching reaches across universities and state music education conferences, while his conducting has taken him throughout the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, Germany, Italy, and China. VanderCook College of Music awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2020.
