About the Composer: Ralph Ford

Ralph Ford has spent nearly three decades on university faculties while building a parallel career as a prolific composer and arranger. Beginning as a student arranger in Panama City, Florida at age fifteen, he went on to direct jazz ensembles and serve as staff arranger at Troy State University, where he earned his Master of Science degree in 1988. His work spans orchestration, theory, and applied instruction across multiple ensemble types.

As an exclusive composer and arranger for the Belwin division of Alfred Music, Ford has created over 250 titles for orchestra, concert band, jazz ensemble, and marching band. His catalog reaches ensembles at every level worldwide. Beyond music, he has received international awards for broadcast jingles, animation, and multimedia production, bringing his diverse professional experience in radio, television, and commercial media into his compositional voice.
