His work as an ASCAP award-winning composer and arranger, combined with his role as Director of Educational Choral Publications for Shawnee Press, has shaped choral music across the country.

Beyond the concert stage, Gilpin has expanded into film scoring (earning Best Score for the short film "Rosie's Rescue") and professional organizing, drawing on his Maestro Organizing business to inform his approach to clarity and structure. He remains active in ACDA, NAfME, SAG-AFTRA, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and continues to teach, compose, and conduct as the music world moves forward.
