Heather Sorenson has built a reputation as a composer and arranger whose works span churches, universities, concert halls, and competitions across the globe. Based in Dallas, she moved beyond her early recognition as a pianist to become known for orchestral, choral, and piano compositions that draw equally from traditional and contemporary Christian music traditions. Her ability to blend these worlds has become her artistic signature.
Sorenson's commissions have included major projects for Texas A&M University, the John F. Kennedy Memorial Foundation, and a Carnegie Hall premiere of her oratorio EXODUS. She has taught elementary music at Grace Academy of Dallas, served as adjunct faculty at Baylor University, and regularly leads workshops and master classes in piano and songwriting at schools, universities, and worship conferences nationwide. When not composing or traveling as a guest conductor and speaker, she performs benefit concerts supporting organizations close to her heart.
