About the Composer: Steven J. Pyter
Steven J. Pyter combines classroom experience with compositional ambition. A Chicago-area educator since 2007, he has taught instrumental, vocal, and general music at the high school level while developing a catalog of original works and arrangements. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Music Education degree with teacher certification from VanderCook College of Music.
Pyter's compositions have been performed at major venues and festivals across the United States, including the Midwest Clinic Band and Orchestra Conference. His work with young ensembles has earned national recognition, including the 2022 National Band Association Young Band Composition Contest win for Proxima B.
