Dennis Alexander has shaped music education for decades through his prolific output as a composer of piano literature. Beginning his partnership with Alfred Music Publishing in 1986, he has created over 400 publications that establish him as one of the most widely performed educational composers for piano students across all levels. His career spans teaching positions at the University of Montana (where he led the piano department for 24 years), Cal State Fullerton, and Cal State Northridge, alongside an active performance schedule that includes recitals, chamber music collaborations, and international workshops.

He has served as clinician at state and national music teachers conventions, judged national competitions, and received commissions from numerous organizations.
