About the Author: Dennis Alexander

Dennis Alexander has shaped elementary piano pedagogy for nearly four decades through his work with Alfred Music Publishing, where his catalog exceeds 400 compositions and recordings. A former piano pedagogy professor at the University of Montana for 24 years, he later taught at Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge before establishing himself in Albuquerque as a full-time composer and clinician. His work is recognized internationally, and he continues to be invited to conduct master classes and judge competitions across the United States and Asia.

Beyond the studio, Alexander is an accomplished collaborative musician who has accompanied internationally recognized soloists and performed recitals throughout North America and the Far East. He served as president of the Montana State Music Teachers Association and remains a sought-after clinician at state and national conventions, where his insights into beginning piano instruction have influenced countless teachers.
