About the Composer: Steve Hodges

Steve Hodges

Steve Hodges trained at Western Oregon University (Bachelor of Science) and Central Washington University (Master of Music Education), then spent four decades directing bands, choirs, and small ensembles across public school systems. Since 1986, he has composed over 120 concert band works published by Alfred Music, with additional choral arrangements appearing through Staff Music and Shawnee Press.

Hodges's compositions have traveled internationally and appeared at festivals, state conventions, and honor band programs from Virginia to British Columbia. His music has also been featured on TBS and ESPN broadcasts. As an ASCAP member, he continues to be recognized for his contributions to band literature. Now based in The Dalles, Oregon, Hodges remains active in community music while watching his grandchildren perform his own pieces in their school bands.
