Penny Rodriguez came of age as a musician in Peru, where she began piano studies at age 6 while her parents served as missionaries. She went on to earn a degree in piano performance from Moody/American Conservatory of Music, launching a career that has encompassed performance, composition, and recording across 11 albums.

Rodriguez has built a publishing catalog spanning piano works and choral pieces, though her recent compositional direction has shifted toward art songs for solo voice and piano, often set to carefully chosen historical poetry. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband Dave, where family time with their grandchildren fuels much of her creative joy.
