Although very playable, there are some interesting harmonic twists and turns, and a few surprises to keep the audience engaged. Robert Sheldon stands among the most frequently performed composers in wind band repertoire. His works appear regularly on concert programs and contest lists worldwide, and he has received major recognitions from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and ASCAP. Beyond composition, Sheldon is the lead author of Sound Innovations for Concert Band, a resource widely used in music education.
As a clinician and conductor, Sheldon has worked with ensembles across the United States and internationally, including appearances in Canada, Japan, Germany, Italy, Australia, and China. His performances have been heard at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, Chicago's Orchestra Hall, the Sydney Opera House, and the Kennedy Center.
