About the Composer: Brian Balmages

Brian Balmages maintains an uncommon versatility across orchestral, band, and chamber music, with performances at major venues including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Sydney Opera House. His accolades include the A. Austin Harding Award from the American School Band Directors Association, first place in the 2020 NBA William D. Revelli Composition Contest for Love and Light, and membership in the American Bandmasters Association.

As a conductor, Balmages appears regularly with all-state ensembles, university groups, and professional orchestras worldwide. His music was performed at the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Prayer Service, and he has been commissioned by major institutions including the University of Miami for presidential inaugural music. He currently serves as Director of MakeMusic Publications and Digital Education for Alfred and MakeMusic.
