About the Composer: Robert Sheldon
Robert Sheldon stands among the most frequently performed composers in the wind band repertoire. His works appear regularly on state and national contest lists, and his compositions have been heard in Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Sydney Opera House. He coauthored Sound Innovations for Concert Band and has earned recognition from the American School Band Director's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and ASCAP.
Sheldon maintains an active schedule as a guest conductor for honor bands and clinician at universities and state music education conferences across the United States, Japan, Canada, Italy, Germany, Australia, and China. He regularly accepts commissions and produces numerous concert band publications annually. In 2020, VanderCook College of Music awarded him an honorary doctorate in recognition of his contributions to music education and composition.
