Jared Barnes

Jared Barnes brings two decades of teaching experience to his work as a composer and arranger, having led instrumental music programs in Iowa from the middle grades through high school. His compositions and arrangements have earned recognition across the country, appearing on prestigious lists including Stanton's Five Star Feature and the Bandworld Top 100, and have been performed at honor bands, festivals, and the Midwest Clinic.

Barnes' teaching ensembles consistently achieve top ratings at state festivals, with his bands selected as Class 1A Honor Bands for the Iowa Bandmasters Conventions in 2011 and 2019. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Wartburg College and approaches arranging with the understanding that comes from daily work with developing musicians.
