About the Arranger: Timothy Loest

Timothy Loest has spent over three decades in the classroom building a reputation for writing music that works for young musicians while never talking down to them. His compositions and arrangements appear regularly on network television programs and in concert halls across the country, and his pedagogical contributions to methods like Measures of Success® have shaped how countless directors teach musicianship. In 2017, his orchestral work Cloud Gate was performed for over 5,000 people at Chicago's Millennium Park, and that same year he received the Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education from the Illinois Grade School Music Association, the highest honor given by that organization.

Loest founded Fanfare Music Press in 2022 to continue publishing high-quality band literature and arrangements. His work spans multiple publishers including FJH Music Company, C.L. Barnhouse Company, and MakeMusic Publications, with a catalog extending back to his first publication in 1995. He holds degrees from Illinois State University and Northwestern University, maintains membership in ASCAP, and continues to accept commissions for band music.
