About the Composer: Steve Hodges
Steve Hodges holds degrees from Western Oregon University (Bachelor of Science) and Central Washington University (Master of Music Education). His four-decade career in public school music education spanned directing concert bands, choirs, and chamber ensembles across multiple grade levels.
Since 1986, Hodges has composed over 120 concert band works published by Alfred Music, along with choral arrangements for Staff Music and Shawnee Press. His commissions have come from honor bands and school programs across North America, from Virginia to British Columbia, and his music has appeared in television broadcasts on TBS and ESPN. A member of ASCAP, Hodges now resides in The Dalles, Oregon, where he continues to engage with community music and takes particular joy in hearing his compositions performed by his grandchildren's school bands.
