• Emphasize the off-beat accents without letting them overwhelm the fundamental pulse. These should feel percussive and crisp, not rushed or syncopated in a way that conflicts with the march character.
• Give each section advance notice of their soli passages so they prepare musically and tonally. A saxophone section expecting its moment will play with more confidence and presence.
