About the Composer: Timothy Loest

Timothy Loest has spent over thirty years in the classroom at F.E. Peacock Middle School in Itasca, Illinois, where he developed deep expertise in what young musicians need to grow. His compositions and arrangements are performed by bands worldwide, and his pedagogical impact extends through collaborations with major publishers on methods like Measures of Success® and Warm-ups and Beyond. In 2017, his work Cloud Gate was performed for over 5,000 spectators at Chicago's Millennium Park, the same year he received the Illinois Grade School Music Association's Cloyd Myers Memorial Award for Excellence in Music Education.

Loest's publishing career spans nearly three decades, with works appearing on network television shows including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America. He founded Fanfare Music Press in 2022 to focus on high-quality band compositions and arrangements. A graduate of Illinois State University and Northwestern University, he holds memberships in ASCAP and continues to accept commissions for band while maintaining an active presence in music education circles across Illinois and beyond.
