About the Composer: Robert T. Gibson
Robert T. Gibson is a Houston-based conductor, composer, and educator whose work spans middle school through collegiate settings. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of North Texas and a Master of Music from Missouri State University, where he later served as adjunct professor and director of the Gospel Choir and Multicultural Ensemble. His contributions to choral music and community engagement have been recognized with the 2020 Missouri Choral Directors Association Opus Award and the 2022 NAACP Trailblazer Award.
Throughout his career, Gibson has held positions as a guest clinician across Texas, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Tennessee, and New York, bringing his conducting expertise and passion for developing future music educators to classrooms and conferences nationwide. His arrangements and original compositions appear through Walton Music and Alfred Publications, and his works have been performed by ensembles including the Texas All-State Tenor Bass Choir and the Missouri Summer All-State Choir.
