Don Besig

Don Besig spent 31 years teaching public school music in western New York, building award-winning concert choral and show choir programs that performed regularly at festivals, competitions, and community venues. His work across all educational levels sharpened his understanding of what student singers and volunteer church musicians actually need from their repertoire. Currently serving as director of music at Perinton Presbyterian Church in Fairport, New York, he applies decades of classroom and conducting experience to his own compositional work.

Besig has published over 350 original compositions and arrangements with major school and church music publishers, with more than 15 million copies in circulation. His contributions to choral music have earned multiple ASCAP Special Awards, and his reputation has led to guest conducting, clinician, and adjudicator work across 40 states and Canada. A graduate of Ithaca College and member of ACDA, MENC, NYSSMA, and ASCAP, Besig remains actively engaged with singers of all ages.
