About the Arranger: Mark Hayes
Mark Hayes brings decades of experience as a composer, arranger, and conductor to every project he touches. A summa cum laude graduate in Piano Performance from Baylor University, he has built an astonishing catalog of over 1,750 published works spanning sacred music, secular choral repertoire, orchestration, and piano literature. His conducting has graced stages at Lincoln Center, the National Cathedral, and Carnegie Hall, and he premiered his own Requiem at Lincoln Center in 2013 before conducting it again at St. Ignatius Basilica in Rome as part of the Vatican-sponsored Festival Pro Musica E Arte Sacra.
Beyond the concert hall, Hayes has demonstrated remarkable range as a theatrical composer and orchestrator, creating the score for Civil War Voices (which won six awards at the Midtown International Theatre Festival) and orchestrating the musical Madame Buttermilk. In 2010, Baylor University honored him with the Award for Exemplary Leadership in Christian Music. Whether writing for treble voices, mixed ensembles, or full orchestra, Hayes consistently demonstrates why he remains one of the most commissioned and performed contemporary composers in the music education world.
