About the Composer: Vicki Tucker Courtney
Vicki Tucker Courtney began piano study at age four and developed a comprehensive musical foundation through classical training and choral work at North Texas State University. Her career spans composition, arrangement, and pedagogy across multiple genres and ensembles—choirs, piano, handbells, and solo voice—while maintaining an active studio teaching piano and composition to students of all ages.
A consistent recipient of ASCAP Plus Awards, Courtney has built an expansive catalog of published works, reaching her hundredth title in 2009 and surpassing 350 publications by 2017. She studied under Dove Award winner Mark Hayes in 2002 and 2004, and her work reflects both her church music experience and her deep commitment to choral writing. She resides in Columbia, Tennessee.
