About the Composer: Mark Williams
Mark Williams built his reputation as a composer who understood exactly what beginning musicians needed to play and grow. His deep experience teaching elementary band in Washington state informed his approach to writing accessible yet musically satisfying works. Williams co-authored the Accent on Achievement Band Method and created over 200 published compositions for bands, orchestras, and choirs.
Beyond the page, Williams was an active clinician and guest conductor who worked with ensembles across 34 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia. He earned recognition from the Western International Band Clinic's Gralia Competition and multiple ASCAP Special Awards. A capable bassoon performer himself, he served as conductor and artistic director for the Spokane British Brass Band while holding degrees from Eastern Washington University.
