About the Composer: Haley Woodrow
Haley Woodrow is a composer, educator, and trumpet player based in Bedford, Texas. She holds a Bachelor's of Music in jazz studies from the University of Texas at Arlington (2008) and a Master of Music in composition from Texas Christian University (2016), where she studied under Dan Cavanagh, George Chave, Blaise Ferrandino, and Neil Anderson-Himmelspach. Her composition "And It Begins" won the 2016 Young Band Composition Contest sponsored by Alfred Music and now appears in their Young Symphonic series.
Woodrow's work as Orchestra Director and Arranger at Cornerstone Baptist Church (2006-2013) produced approximately 500 arrangements, grounding her in practical ensemble writing. Her compositional voice centers on blending divergent musical styles in ways that serve young musicians, creating pieces that challenge while remaining accessible.
