Ralph Ford has spent nearly three decades teaching at the university level while maintaining an active career as a composer, arranger, and conductor. His professional reach extends across media, broadcast, and educational sectors, with credits ranging from television and radio production to live musical direction and recording sessions. He has served on the faculty at Troy State University, where he directed jazz ensembles and oversaw arranging instruction for his students.

As an exclusive composer and arranger for the Belwin division of Alfred Music, Ford has created over 250 published works for orchestra, concert band, jazz ensemble, and marching band. His compositions and arrangements have been premiered and performed by university, military, professional, community, and school ensembles internationally. His background in Panama City, Florida, and his early appointment as a jazz director during his undergraduate years established a foundation for the versatile, accessible writing that characterizes his educational catalog today.
