About the Composer: Darren W. Jenkins
Darren W. Jenkins brings both compositional training and hands-on band directing experience to his work. He holds a Master of Music in Composition from the University of Kansas, where he studied under James Barnes, and completed his undergraduate degree at Washburn University with a focus on music education. His career has spanned elementary through high school levels across Kansas, including roles at Hayden High School in Topeka and the Lawrence Public Schools, where he taught while also supporting the high school program.
Currently serving as Assistant Director of Bands at Olathe South High School, Jenkins has established himself as both a composer and clinician. His works have earned recognition and performances by ensembles throughout the United States and internationally, reflecting his deep understanding of what bands at various levels can achieve.
