Catherine Rollin

Catherine Rollin balances an active performance schedule with a teaching studio known for developing competition-winning students. She holds a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree with distinction from the University of Michigan and a Master of Music degree from Oakland University School of Performing Arts, and has led workshops and masterclasses across more than 200 cities throughout the United States, Canada, Japan, and Taiwan.

Rollin's compositional voice has earned recognition from major music organizations. The Music Teachers National Association, MTNA's prestigious From the Pen to the Premiere series, the Clavier Companion magazine, and the Michigan Music Teachers Association have all commissioned her work. Her compositions appear regularly in the National Federation of Music Clubs Festivals Bulletin, and she has served as a national judge for both the MTNA Student Composition Competition and the Lynn Freeman Olson Composition Contest. Her ASCAP award-winning Museum Masterpieces series (Books 1-4) and her chamber work Suite Detroit for flute, alto saxophone, and piano represent the range and quality of her output.
