About the Composer: Sally K. Albrecht
Sally K. Albrecht has shaped choral music education for over forty years as a composer, conductor, and clinician with a distinctive focus on integrating movement into choral performance. Her catalog includes more than 600 published choral works alongside 75 large-scale musicals and songbooks; she has earned the ASCAP Special Music Award annually since 1987 and conducted honor choirs at major venues including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and The Kennedy Center.
For three decades, Albrecht led school choral, vocal, and elementary music publication efforts at major educational publishers, most recently at Alfred Music. She holds degrees from Rollins College (B.A., Music and Theater, 1976), the University of Miami (M.A., Drama, 1977; M.M., Accompanying, 1979), and has taught in university music departments across Michigan, New Jersey, and North Carolina. In 2021, she received the Distinguished Alumna Award from both the University of Miami Frost School of Music and Rollins College, where she serves on the Board of Trustees.
