About the Composer: JaRod Hall
JaRod Hall studied music education at the University of North Texas and earned his master's degree from Texas State University, where he studied conducting with Dr. Nicholas Williams and Dr. Caroline Beatty, and composition with Dr. Michael Ippolito and Dr. Jack Wilds. As both a performer and educator, he has spent eight years directing bands and earned recognition for his students' consistent success at UIL evaluations, including a landmark Citation of Excellence for a Frisco ISD middle school band in 2018.
Hall's performance resume spans professional wind ensembles and drum corps, including principal tuba with the Texas State Wind Symphony and membership in the 2014 Disneyland All-American College Band. His compositions have been recognized on the Texas Prescribed Music List, the J.W. Pepper Editor's Choice list, and the Bandworld Top 100, with recent honors including a 2020 Dallas Winds Call for Fanfares award and the 2021 Barbara Buehlman Prize for middle school band.
