Joseph M. Martin studied piano performance at Furman University in South Carolina, then pursued advanced training at the University of Texas, Austin, where he also taught in the Piano Pedagogy Department for five years. His performance career has taken him across the United States and Mexico, including featured appearances with major symphony orchestras and a nationally broadcast recital from Ex-convento del Carman in Guadalajara.

Though Martin maintains an active concert schedule, his focus has shifted toward church music and worship contexts. His compositions and arrangements now reach audiences in settings ranging from Carnegie Hall to intimate church sanctuaries across North America. He resides in Austin, Texas with his family.
