About the Composer: Brian Beck

Brian Beck is a composer and arranger whose works span instrumental and vocal ensembles, earning recognition through TMEA Honor Band features, regional clinics, and state-level competitions. His compositions have received "Reviewer's Choice" honors from The Instrumentalist and J. W. Pepper, "Best New Concert Band Music" designation from Tom Lee Music, and inclusion in Teaching Music Through Performance In Band (GIA Publications). His pieces appear on numerous prescribed music lists, including the Texas UIL Prescribed Music and Sight Reading List, Ohio Band List, and Florida Bandmasters Association Concert Music Committee selections.

Beck holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a Master's Degree in Music Education from the University of Houston. He has directed award-winning bands at both the middle and high school levels in Texas, with ensembles under his baton consistently earning Superior ratings at UIL contests and finalist honors in TMEA State competitions. A 1994 alumnus of the Duncanville Band Program and former TMEA All-State Band member, Beck brings both pedagogical expertise and compositional depth to his work.
