About the Composer: Lois Brownsey

Lois Brownsey (Heckman) developed her musical foundation in Philadelphia, where she studied at Temple University and the Guitar Workshop while building a career in musical theatre. Over decades of performing in pop, rock, and blues ensembles across the United States and internationally, she brought those styles into her compositional voice. She now lives in the Pocono Mountains and co-owns Red Rock Recording Studios with her husband, recording engineer Kent Heckman.

With her longtime collaborator Marti Lunn Lantz, Brownsey has created a catalog of choral works and song collections that blend seasonal appeal with multicultural perspectives. Their Alfred publications span novelty pieces, holiday arrangements, and thematic song collections such as Celebrations around the World and The Wonders of the Earth. Brownsey has also contributed commercial songwriting and vocal work for major clients, bringing professional studio experience to every project she touches.
