About the Arranger: James D. Ployhar
James D. Ployhar has established himself as a prolific voice in music education with more than 800 published compositions to his name. His career spans decades of public school teaching, university-level instruction, and clinician work across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Ployhar's orchestration expertise deepened through study with Knud Havalde of the Danish Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and his pedagogical methods achieved international reach when his Contemporary Band Course was translated into French and Norwegian for use throughout Norway.
His contributions to the field have earned recognition including the National Band Association Citation of Excellence and the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Valley City State University. Ployhar holds degrees from Valley City State University and Northern Colorado University, with graduate composition study completed at California State University-Long Beach under Morris Hutchings Ruger. His work has appeared on network television and been performed internationally across Europe, Japan, and the Pacific Rim.
