Description
You want Latin--we've got Latin! The latest Victor Lopez chart for 2000, this original melody bounces from the trumpets to the saxes over some great bebop chord changes. The students will even enjoy a bit of jazz history as Victor quotes Dizzy Gillespie's "Salt Peanuts." After a dynamic build up to the open solo section, your flexibility is optimized with solo chord changes on all parts along with ensemble backgrounds. Then, as only Victor can do, the groove changes completely to a heavy Latin funk section in which the horn sections trade musical statements. This one is suitable for Grade 4 but is extremely playable since there are no extreme ranges or complex rhythms. Enjoy this "Hunny" of a chart.
