About the Composer: Todd Stalter
Todd Stalter built a legendary band program at Eureka High School in Illinois, where he directed ensembles for 34 years. His marching band won 16 Class 1A state championships, his concert band earned consistent Superior ratings at state contests, and his groups performed at Orchestra Hall in Chicago and Walt Disney World. He has been inducted into the Illinois State Marching Band Championships Hall of Fame and continues an active schedule as a guest conductor for All-State Bands in multiple states and as a clinician at major music education conferences.
As a composer, Stalter's works for band and string orchestra are performed internationally and appear regularly on state festival and contest lists. Many of his compositions are featured in the "Teaching Music Through Performance in Band" series published by GIA. He holds degrees in music education and trumpet performance from Illinois State University, where he studied conducting with Dr. Stephen K. Steele.
