About the Composer: Jack Bullock
Jack Bullock brings decades of professional musicianship and classroom experience to his compositions. A trumpet performer who worked with the Miami Philharmonic Orchestra and Miami Opera Company, he also performed with regional and national dance bands, gaining practical insight into ensemble writing across multiple idioms. He holds degrees in Music Education through the doctoral level and taught instrumental music in public schools for 20 years, including seven years as an assistant band director at Ithaca College's School of Music, where he also chaired the Music Education Department.
With more than 600 published works to his name, Bullock has established himself as a prolific voice in concert band, orchestra, jazz ensemble, and marching band repertoire. He co-authored the Belwin 21st Century Band Method and contributed arrangements to Music Expressions, Alfred Music's school curriculum. A member of ASCAP since 1980, Bullock has conducted clinics and workshops across North America and England, and is recognized in Marquis Who's Who publications.
